This week, I’d like to shine a light on a very special part of our school culture: Friends of Canggu Community School, or as we affectionately call it, FoCCS — our Parent-Teacher Association.

FoCCS is more than a volunteer group. It’s a powerful way for parents to engage with the life of the school, connect with one another, and contribute to our shared mission of learning, respect, balance, and engagement.

What Is FoCCS?

FoCCS is the heartbeat of our parent community. It brings together parents, caregivers, and staff who want to support school life in meaningful and joyful ways.

From organizing events to welcoming new families, helping with fundraising, supporting staff appreciation, and championing community causes — FoCCS helps make CCS feel like home.

At its core, FoCCS is about collaboration, creativity, and connection.

How Parents Can Get Involved

Whether you have five minutes or five hours, there are many ways to be part of FoCCS:

• 🧁 Volunteer at school events like the International Food Festival, Halloween Carnival, or Spring Fair
   
• 🪴 Join a planning committee — help shape our community calendar
   
• 🎉 Welcome new families and support parent onboarding
   
• 🎨 Share your talents — from art and culture to logistics and communications
   
• ☕ Attend monthly FoCCS meetings — everyone is welcome, and your voice matters
   

No experience required — just a willingness to contribute, connect, and be part of something special.
