CIE Accreditation Gained
Canggu Community School’s application to Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) to be a registered Cambridge International Centre (CIC) has been approved. CIE is a part of Cambridge University, in England. This decision allows CCS to teach Cambridge’s International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) courses.
New Classrooms
With the introduction of IGCSE classes for Years 10 and 11 into CCS, some additional classrooms are required. Redevelopment of the upstairs storage area of the Multi Function Hall to create two classrooms is about to commence. One of these rooms will be an Art and Design Technology Room. The other will be a general teaching room for IGCSE classes. A second general teaching room is being created between the MFH and the Year 5 classroom, at the same height as the first-floor classrooms. This will create an undercover area for eating lunches. These classrooms will meet the School’s classroom needs for the short term future.
New Land
To ensure that CCS has enough space to build additional classrooms and facilities for the mid-term future, a long term lease of one hectare of additional land has been finalised. This land will also provide CCS with an extra entrance/exit and car park space. This page will be updated with detailed plans for the land as they are finalised.
New Shop and Storage
When the building programme next to the Front Office is completed, we will have a new shop with a storage area at the back. The extra room to display goods and the easy access will be enjoyed by all members of the CCS community. The shop is expected to be open towards the end of Term 4, just in time to start selling uniforms to our new pupils when the come for their first orientation session.
